Wellington neo-dub/roots band Tunes of I is proud to announce the release of their debut album Restless on November 26, 2015. Part-funded by a highly successful Kickstarter Campaign, the album boasts some of the New Zealand industry’s best as part of the recording team.
Recorded by award-winning sound engineer Lee Prebble in Surgery Studios and mastered by Mike Gibson at Munki Studios, the album also has the full force of producer Barnaby Weir (The Black Seeds, Fly My Pretties) at its back.
Featuring both brand new tracks and re-recorded versions of previously released songs, Restless tells a story of the band’s journey, and the constant grind that goes hand in hand with wanting to share your craft with the world, embodied in the album name. Born out of the New Zealand School of Music in 2011, all band members are either graduates or current students, the band is known for their on-stage dynamic, where their touring experience and Jazz School credentials force you to take notice. Let them take you on a musical journey through a varied album performing their special blend of dub, roots, soul and psychedelic flavours, and listen as they unexpectedly swell into a singly, resonating entity where all seven members blend into one collective presence.
Restless is available for pre-order from iTunes from November 2.
You can hear their first taster Tautoko on the band’s YouTube channel.
