Maori Television are proud to announce the launch of COAST, a weekly, two hour, live, music program screening from 9pm-11pm Friday evening’s.
Debuting on April the 2nd, 2004, COAST has a stellar line up of live performances by Mareko, Anika Moa, Ill Semantic & DJ Logikal! Guest Host Frankie Stevens will pop in part way through the show and join regular presenters Shavaughn Ruakere, (formerly of What Now fame & more recently the live anchor of London’s award winning show, SM TV) with Mai FM’s Brent Mio and newcomer Bgurl Sheeq, (a professional break dancer who has spent the last year performing at major International hip hop & music festivals, dancing in music video’s & appearing in television commercials).
Reflecting an understated, laid back, New Zealand attitude, COAST is made up of regular featured segments, field reports, live studio performances, interviews, a New York music correspondent, artist profiles, exclusive video clips & interactive texting competitions. Broadcast live each week from Newmarket (9-15 Davis street, directly behind the Olympic Pools), in a purpose built, state of the art studio, with a wall of windows facing out onto the street, by summer COAST hopes to swing its doors open and attract a truly live outdoor audience!
