Launched at midnight Jan 1st New Zealand time, in case you missed it Coco Solid dropped the first track of 2016 complete with an animated epic.
Slow Torture brings stark techno, pop music and a 303 lament altogether with Coco even bringing her underground brother Disasteradio along for the ride.
Slow Torture is produced by Tim ‘Jizmatron’ Checkley and is a dramatic opus dedicated to drawn out relationships. Directed by Simon Ward and the Skyranch squad, the impressive video spans galactic warfare right down to hum-drum domestic life and asks… which is secretly tougher?
Coco Solid is one half of Parallel Dance Ensemble with Robin Hannibal and a founding member of noize collective Badd Energy, signed to kiwi label Flying Nun. Coco comes armed on the tails of her international Underground Resistance remix Transition alongside Violet, Nightwave, AMOR, Mamacita and Nancy Whang. She is currently working on her second series of the Māori comedy cartoon series A Band Called Hook Ups and begins her film for Taika Waititi’s production company Piki this year.
The track is available to download for free/pay what you like at
