After releasing her new EP,
Up In The Air, alongside a New Zealand tour at the end of 2015;
Lisa Crawley today releases her new single
Showgirl to radio.
Showgirl is the second single from
Up In The Air.
It's a simple yet clever pop song, combining catchy melodies with
lyrics that address the contrasts and different facets of the world of
an entertainer and how people perceive them, summed up in the hook:
"Just a Showgirl with nothing to show, girl" The track was produced and recorded in Melbourne, Australia by Ryan Ritchie (Aria award-winner for
Kimbra's
Cameo Lover) and has proven to be a favourite from the EP.
"It's Showgirl that's the standout for me... I've always like
the harmonic structures that Crawley works with – again deceptively
simple seems to the way to describe it." - Simon Sweetman Up In The Air contains four new songs penned by Crawley in the last year, documenting recent adventures in Canada, the United
States and her new home, Melbourne. The EP builds on the retro vibe of
2013's
All In My Head, showcasing a singer-songwriter who has found her place in a dreamy, melodic pop world, with an edgy darkness.
