Gareth Thomas - I'd Like - new video and FREE download!

03 February 2016 - 0 Comments

Goodshirt alumn Gareth Thomas is proud to release the video to accompany his new single I’d Like.

The track was co-written with former Goodshirt band mate Murray Fisher and was recorded in 2015 in Gareth’s bedroom. Gareth has already proven himself to be a genuine songwriting genius in Goodshirt; his songwriting earned the band two Tui award wins in 2003, and two Silver Scroll nominations in 2001 and 2004.

The space themed video for I’d Like follows a lost and lonely astronaut as he wanders on Earth, a perfect visual accompaniment for the spacey indie-pop track that tells of wanting to be able to talk to someone but being unable to find the words, and having to resort to something as seemingly impassive as a Facebook ‘like’.

The video created with Thievery Studios features Gareth in the role of the spaceman, lost in an expansive landscape, with gorgeous time-lapse shots of downtown Auckland.

The video for can now be watched on YouTube and as an early gift to music lovers; Gareth has made the song available as a free download on Bandcamp.

I’d Like is the first single from Gareth’s second solo album, which is due for release in 2016 – more details will follow.
