Due to an eventful past two years, Auckland based Pop/R&B singer Denelle has created irresistible demand for himself in the most competitive market on the globe – America.
To say the 20-year-old is turning heads would be an understatement, as heavyweight Atlanta based artist development team SEAL MUSIC PRODUCTIONS headhunted the suburban singer with global ambitions and a major recording contract on the agenda.
Spearheaded by industry veteran Victor Dufour, the East Aucklander is in the hands of a team that developed R&B superstar Usher and wrote the Grammy Award Winning hit, ‘We Belong Together’ for platinum selling songstress Mariah Carey.
Denelle is being primed as New Zealand’s next big export, as the humble kiwi has just returned from Los Angeles where he recorded his forthcoming EP alongside highly sought after producer, Charles “Chizzy” Stephens. Stephens has masterminded hits for Chris Brown, Jennifer Lopez and Justin Bieber in recent times as Denelle adds, “Working with Chizzy was an amazing experience. His ability to come up with ideas in the moment is so on point. Just tell him what you want and he'll deliver on it. It was an awesome songwriting process”.
As well as recording at Stephens’ home studio, Denelle worked alongside music producer Tero Potila at Hollywood based Paramount Recording Studios, which has been shared by music’s biggest stars such as Rihanna, John Mayer, Bruno Mars and Justin Timberlake. No mean feat for a soft-spoken kiwi boy from the burbs.
This remarkable opportunity began in 2014, when Denelle opened for platinum selling boyband Titanium on their nationwide tour alongside X-Factor Australia finalist - Jai Waetford. This opened Denelle up to nationwide recognition and a lucrative distribution deal with Warner Music NZ.
With collaborations alongside pop heavyweights such as Jupiter Project, Jamie McDell and Grammy Winning producer Ryan Bowser (Nelly Ft. Kelly Rowland Dilemma) under his belt, Denelle has made all the right moves in recent years to earn the attention of some of the biggest ‘movers and shakers’ in the American music industry, as yet another talented kiwi singer finds himself two steps closer in conquering the American music mountain.
Denelle’s EP is scheduled to be released mid 2016.
