We are the Wild A high energy 80’s inspired retro synth Pop track.
"We Are The Wild is all about empowerment. I want people to feel happy and confident when they hear it. There are so many things in our society that bring us down and make us feel bad about ourselves. It’s about embracing our youth and coming together to have fun” Maya

Breathe Again A darkly textured alternative electro track with vibrant driving choruses.
"Breathe Again is a much darker track, I wanted it to feel broody and portray the pain in the song. The chorus however is a wave of synths that show the promise of the future. This track is about wanting to revive a relationship that has gone wrong in some way and bring it back to life.” Maya

About; “I’ve been having lots of fun with this one. I really wanted to make an EP that was diverse and allowed me to experiment with different sounds. From retro inspired Pop through to Future electro and Chill Trap, I feel that as a whole I’m really happy with it and it will allow me to really experiment with mixing my more alternative influences, with my pop colourful side when playing live.” Maya

When the Gramophone rings: Resident New Zealander Maya Payne delivers her second single to us as a big, bursting, banging bubble of electronica, a studio led piece of power showing her amazing talent as a singer and songwriter.
HillyDilly.com: New Zealand's Maya Payne is the marvellous artist behind the effort—her second original one released — and we're pretty impressed by how substantial her sound is.
Yourmusicradar.com: She has already been listed as one of New Zealand’s artists to watch in 2015 and that choice is on the money and so is this song. If Only sounds like it has been produced by Flume it is that good.
Themusicninja.com: Let’s take a step back and recognize how great the vocals are on this. At times they feel very delicate but as soon as that drop into the chorus hits, she delivers her words fiercely. With such a powerful production to battle, Maya proves how strong and mature her vocals are.
Indie Shuffle: with thousands of fans on the usual social media outlets and press snapping at her ankles at every opportunity, Maya Payne is something of an electro alt-pop sensation.
SHORT BIO: Hailing from Christchurch, New Zealand, 19 year old, Maya Payne has been singing since she was six and writing songs since she was 11. Her early tracks have had significant radio play in New Zealand, with her track If Only also becoming a regular fixture on music TV in both New Zealand and Canada. The video for If Only was shot in Santorini, Greece. Writing her own songs and working closely with a producer from her home town, MCHNCL (Kabyn Walley), as well as Josh Fountain (Golden Age studios, Auckland). Kostas Kalimeris joined the team to complete the final mixes, (Blackrock Studios, Santorini). There are more songs in the works for an album and Maya will be playing live supporting the EP release in March throughout New Zealand, with a goal to play some shows overseas later in the year.
