Auckland young guns Yukon Era are set to release their debut, self-titled EP on February 26th. The EP consists of five rhythmically and melodically diverse tunes, that capture a fervently modern, but stubbornly classic, garage rock sound. With four out of five members still in high school, the boys have supported acts including Mac Demarco, Viet Cong, METZ, and Mini Mansions in the past three months.
To support the release, Yukon Era have created a music video for the EP’s
fourth track, Her Worst Nightmare. The
video was entirely filmed on an iPhone, and includes footage filmed over the
2015/16 New Year period, three hours north of Auckland in a small coastal
campground. The video emulates the fast paced tempo of the song, whilst capturing
a crazy period of the New Zealand summer.
The boys will soon embark on a short tour of the North Island, including stops
in Palmerston North, Wellington, and two hometown shows in Auckland. The EP
will be released digitally, as well as on CD/Cassette (NZ) via Oldies, which
will be available at all shows and online.
