Local reggae soul
singer Sammy Johnson has announced a massive tour across the US, Australia, NZ and the Islands this
February to April, with new single Say That You Love Me Too also due out on
Friday 26 February.
Joined on the road by US RnB/Reggae singer Tenelle and Hawaiian roots trio The Late Ones, the
tour promises to bring through the next wave of talent, with performances
set for Auckland on Friday 26 February and Hamilton on Saturday 27 February.
The heartfelt single also features the rising starlet, with Tenelle complimenting Sammy’s beautiful tones to create a stunning duet over soothing
reggae rhythms.
"I’m excited to be releasing a new single with the very talented Tenelle. The song
is about two people wanting to say they love each other to each other but they
don’t," said Sammy
Johnson. "We all go through that experience where you want
to express your feelings to someone but we hesitate. The song will hopefully
see people taking the first step."
Sammy Johnson embraces his Maori and Polynesian roots to create positive and uplifting music,
mixing together island reggae, soul and jazz with earnest and full-hearted
lyrics.
Now based in the U.S, Sammy
Johnson has exploded into the international market selling out
venues across the west coast and Hawaii, with his latest tour looking to follow
suit.
‘Say That You Love Me’ featuring Tenelle is available for purchase and streaming across all digital platforms on Island
Empire Records from Friday 26 February.
