Flee the Ground is Karl Jensen’s debut solo album, a collection of wryly melancholy indie pop songs with a nod to the 90’s. The melodic soulfulness is infused by dry wit, creating a retro sound influenced by The National, Big Star and early sixties vocal pop.
The album traverses themes of rootlessness, travel and disillusion, romanticized via the lens of classic rock guitars and indie earnestness.
The album will be available on iTunes, Google Play and other digital distribution platforms March 15th. The album was mastered to old-school analogue tape at Mike Gibson’s Munki Studio facility at Park Road, Wellington.
