The Block Party - New Zealand's premier urban music festival

21 March 2016 - 0 Comments

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Twista, Mobb Deep, Tha Dogg Pound and DJ Quik… they are some of the biggest names in the urban music world and they are all heading to New Zealand for one night only!

Promoter, Talk Later, is proud and excited to bring this incredible line-up to Auckland for the inaugural THE BLOCK PARTY festival on Saturday May 20.

Earlybird tickets go on sale Wednesday March 30 (7pm) for 24 hours at only $99. Remaining tickets (general admission) go on sale Monday April 4. All tickets available from http://www.theticketfairy.com/

Grammy Award winners Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, who have sold more than 30 million records worldwide, were last in New Zealand in 2015 and performed to rave reviews in Christchurch and Auckland. Four of the original five Bone Thugs members will take to The Block Party stage – Bizzy, Krayzie, Layzie and Wish – in what promises to be an extremely welcome return!

They are joined by American West Coast rap duo, Tha Dogg Pound (original members Daz Dillinger and Kurupt). Tha Dogg Pund formed in the 90s and were signed to Death Row Records, have collaborated with many artists including Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre, and featured on 2 Pac’s highly-acclaimed album, ALL EYEZ ON ME.

Mobb Deep, featuring original members Havoc and Prodigy, are a hardcore East Coast hip-hop duo that recently released their eighth studio album, 2014’s acclaimed THE INFAMOUS MOBB DEEP. They are looking forward to bringing the latest album to life in front of an energetic Kiwi crowd!

Twista joins the star-studded line-up for The Block Party with his incredibly impressive fast rapping style that has seen him collaborate with the likes of Kanye West, T-Pain, Trey Songz, Chris Brown and Mariah Carey. Twista has had a number of hit singles, including the US #1 ‘Slow Jamz’.

Rounding out the internationals is the well-respected rapper, DJ and producer, DJ Quik. Quik has worked with a huge list of top artists including Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z, Janet Jackson, 2 Pac, and the names go on…

Joining this impressive first announcement are some of New Zealand’s favourite artists with Che Fu and the Krates, Tomorrow People, PNC as well as hot new duo, TIMES x TWO.

This event is a multi-stage festival and fully licensed, so is restricted to R18.

The Block Party is proudly presented by Talk Later, who has designed the festival to encompass everything punters love: top artists, quality production, core Kiwi fans, and the Talk Later approach to the delivery of high class events that leave people wanting more.
