London-based
Kiwi hard rockers Tokyo Rock Machine are pleased to announce details of their
storming second EP New Ink to be released on 20th May 2016.
“New Ink has a darker, nastier feel - and we consciously took some stylistic
cues from what’s going on in modern American rock. Songwriting-wise it came
from a darker place mentally and I think you can hear that in the songs.”
singer Kevi Metal says.
The E.P kicks off with the breakneck Iron Maiden flavoured Deepest Cuts then
whips into the title track New Ink with it’s irresistible sing-a-long chorus.Simulate You blasts off with jagged computer riffing before the E.P. closes
with the darkly hypnotic The War You Didn’t See.
New Ink follows on from last year debut EP Batteries Not Included that drew
favourable reviews and comments of “infectious and catchy”, and full of
“crunchy riffs”.
Tokyo Rock Machine worked alongside long-time audio engineer Paul Matthews of I
Am Giant to produce the new EP late in 2015. “We just smashed it out in the
studio as we had a pretty good vision of the songs from playing them live. We
kept it quick and dirty because we didn’t want to lose the energy once we had
momentum” says drummer Waka.
Based in London UK, Tokyo Rock Machine features two New Zealanders - Kevi Metal
(vocals / bass) and Waka (drums). Kevi and Waka first met partying hard into
the early hours at a Munich nightclub. Tokyo Rock Machine are roaring out of
West London slaying audiences with their unique take on Hard Rock.
