The Day the Doctor Died music video release 27 May 2016
To coincide with the end of NZ Music Month 2016, Cian Lynch releases the music video for The Day the Doctor Died, the penultimate track on his debut EP Away From Here. This release marks his departure from Christchurch, the city that afforded him the opportunity to begin his recording career.
The melancholic track tells the story of a love lost by change and a glimmer of hope of its return. Shot in a late Christchurch Autumn the video echoes the desire to return to what once was.
Filmed and edited by local Christchurch photographer and regular collaborator Indigenous Intent the locations for each scene have been chosen for their significance to Cian from his time spent living in the city and for how the progression from one to the next illustrates the anxious build in the songs story.
Having received a positive response to the EP’s release Cian signs off with this video for the time being to work on that records follow up. Be sure to keep tabs on Facebook for updates on the recording as it progresses.
