Two
Southland born New Zealand singer/songwriters Jackie Bristow and Jason Kerrison have come together to sing Bristow's uplifting new single Warrior Spirit.
Jackie says "I wrote this song while doing a massive solo tour and
road trip across America, playing shows in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and
California - far from my homeland, NZ. It was a soulful and inspiring time
in my life and Warrior Spirit is a song about finding your inner strength
and drawing deep from your roots. I am thrilled to have recorded this song as a
duet with Jason Kerrison, his voice soaring with joy and soul. "
Jason and Jackie have both had a life long journey in music. It was Michelle Bakker (369 Music) who suggested the two perform together in Los Angeles
last year. After a great show and the joy of singing together, they were
excited to record and went into the studio in Los Angeles accompanied by a
stellar line up of musicians.
Produced by Mark
Punch and engineered and mixed by Neil Baldock the
single features fellow Kiwi Nick
Gaffaney on drums, Rosa
Pullman on piano, Dave
Sutton on bass, Mark
Punch on electric guitars and Bristow on
acoustic guitar.
The picturesque video is a celebration of Aotearoa's natural beauty. Featuring
both Bristow and Kerrison, the video was produced and directed by Karl Sheridan of Monster Valleywith the help of NZ
on Air.
Warrior
Spirit is now available for purchase from iTunes.
