Armed in Advance Auckland Show

22 June 2016 - 0 Comments

Armed In Advance are bringing a stellar line up to Whammy Bar on August 26th in their first headline show since April, on the back of opening for Drowning Pool In July.

Armed in Advance are a heavy rock trio regarded for their hard hitting riffs, soaring vocal melodies and purposeful songwriting. Since releasing their debut EP Harder Times under the former name of Stitches in 2014, Armed In Advance have toured the country multiple times, had four singles on the nation's biggest rock station, the Rock, and played with many of New Zealand's top rock acts (I Am Giant, Villainy, Black River Drive, These Four Walls, and more). Their single Stayreached #12 in the national rock charts in January, before their latest releaseSame Old Story took to the airwaves in May, later accompanied by an NZ On Air funded music video in June. Armed In Advance have long been in pursuit of delivering an outstanding live show, and their last few outings have received rave reviews. Don't miss this opportunity, no further shows are booked.

"An act that blasts a set of loud grooves, big hits, rumbling tones and without fail has the audience jumping around, moshing, and singing along." - Nick Wilkinson, Muzic.net.nz

"Two solid angry looking men, playing solid angry rock standing on their foldbacks high above the crowd to a packed floor at the Kings Arms and a drummer absolutely smashing his kit is enough to make any music lover take notice of Armed In Advance." Carl Hayman, Muzic.net.nz

Coridian is inspired by heavyweights such as Deftones, Incubus and Karnivool. They incorporate groove, big guitar tones and complex song writing while maintaining hooks and melody. Solid melodic bass, wavering groove beats and experimental heavy guitar combined with soaring vocals and ambient moments. Songs are created as instrumental pieces and the vocals are used as an instrument and layered. Each instrument has its own moments and presence with the vocals flowing throughout carrying various moods.
The band released its Debut Coridian E.P Oceanic in August 2015, with the single Alexandria being released in July 2015 and music video for Brave Disguise being released September 2015

Royal Jackets were sewn together in 2012 by long term session drummer Josh Sorenson. Royal Jackets have opened for classic pacific rockers Hello Sailor, 80’s pop hit makers the Narcs and modern rockers I Am Giant.

Dead Favours are a fresh new band from Auckland, New Zealand playing their own form of Rock and Roll, full of warm riffy goodness. Although Dead Favours may be newly formed, the band come from a rich history of NZ music with members originating from bands including Steriogram, Fire at Will, Bloodnut, Eqwanox, Kara Gordon's Wreckage and much more!
