It’s official, PNC is back with a vengeance as The Luke Vailima EP hits the air Friday July 29 and will mark the first in a 3 part series.
It’s back to hip-hop basics, as this long anticipated release celebrates rawness, realness and pure unadulterated Aotearoa talent. PNC has long been one of NZ’s most talked-about urban artists and has proven himself time and time again to be one of the most genuine, straight-talking and enduring members of the scene.
With his online video Jonah 95, the first unofficial taster of his upcoming work, having amassed over 120,000 views within the first few days of release, it is no surprise that the greatest is yet to come and this EP is not to be missed. A re-introduction to what real Hip-Hop looks like, featuring long freestyle raps and often no chorus, The Luke Vailima EP cuts through the façade and stands as an empowering reminder of who we are at our core.
Produced by his long-time collaborators Patrick Hawkins, Matt Miller, Fire & Ice and Nick “41” Maclaren, the EP bears testament to those people who have shaped and defined his life. With dedications of tracks including his mum, girlfriend and musical influences such as Jay-Z, PNC has never forgotten his roots; something abundantly clear in his latest work. A tribute to our country’s legends and a mark of respect to his idols, The Luke Vailima EP promotes a deep sense of empowerment and encourages us to stand up, speak up and listen.
An award winning, fundamental player of the game, PNC already has 4 albums, 2 mixtapes and multiple international collaborations under his belt, including his work with electronic royalty Skrillex. He indisputably represents a vital part in the backbone of New Zealand Hip-Hop and this latest release is a true testament as to why.
