The New Zealand Music Foundation joins the Church Tour

31 August 2016 - 0 Comments

The 2016 Church Tour is proud to announce The New Zealand Music Foundation as the official charity for this year’s tour.

The New Zealand Music Foundation is a unique charity dedicated to changing the lives of those in need through music. Impacting over 20,000 people, the Foundation has made music therapy and other music-based transformative projects possible at youth organisations, hospices, schools, medical charities, rehabilitation centres, and more all over New Zealand. It also provides vital support including medical treatment, counselling, funeral costs and hardship assistance to those working in the music industry and their families in times of crisis.

Co-promoter of The 2016 Church Tour, Brent Eccles, says that it is a great fit for The New Zealand Music Foundation to be a part of the tour.

“The Church Tour has a tradition of bringing out spine tingling collaborative and individual performances and I can already feel that this year is going to be exceptional in that way. It’s a perfect match for us to support a leading national music charity that is dedicated to changing the lives of those in need in our country.”

New Zealand Music Foundation General Manager, Peter Dickens, says: “We’re so grateful to the whole team at Civic Events and all of the artists for supporting us in this way. Through The 2016 Church Tour, we’ll be able to make music projects happen that will help hundreds of people in need in the very communities the tour visits. It’s going to be a very special experience.”

The 2016 Church Tour will be making its way across the country this September and October, with nine stops in some of New Zealand’s most stunning churches and cathedrals. Tickets are on sale now from ticketmaster.co.nz and churchtour.co.nz. To support the New Zealand Music Foundation please visit nzmusicfoundation.org.nz
