APOLLO STEAMTRAIN ARE A POP/ROCK BAND FROM TAURANGA, NEW ZEALAND.
The 'Double A Side' single The Electric Sun/Streets of Gold showcases this new bands versatile sound by introducing two songs at once. Combining the commercially polished sounds of swirling E-Bow guitars delivered over a punching rhythm section and dressed with relentlessly catchy vocal melodies, Apollo SteamTrain are set to launch themselves onto the NZ Musical landscape.
"The first thing I do when checking out someone's recordings is put on my Sennheiser headphones, shut my eyes and push play. The soundstage that is then presented to me is crucial. What and where is this music emanating from? Where are the instruments, the vocalists? Am I presented with a community of performers that have real presence, balance, dynamics, communication, sympathy, presence and drive? Apollo SteamTrain have a soundstage that is truly cool. The band is the result of ‘The Apollo SteamTrain Project’, a musical journey that began in 2014 by Singer/Songwriter Brendan McCarthy. When the project began, it was decided early on to spend time in the studio and record a collection of songs first and then assemble the best musicians available to deliver the music in the live format.

With considerable collective music industry experience, the members of Apollo SteamTrain (Brendan McCarthy, Les Robinson and Ian Clark) all know the ups and downs of working in an industry that can sometimes be rather daunting, but are prepared to go the distance and take the music as far as it will run.
