As an artist, graphic
designer and musician, multi-hyphenate Kim Pflaum has many arrows to her
quiver. As Madeira, the former Yumi Zouma member has unveiled a new alter-ego
revelling in elevated synth-pop while tackling heartache and betrayal on her new
EP Bad Humours.
Out now on esteemed Carpark Records and Flying Out, the EP showcases Pflaum’s
latest output, following on from where collaborations with Boycrush, Brett and
Cyril Hahn left off. And she’s not holding back. These are songs of growth and
change, of letting go, meanwhile exploring the artifice of performance.
Gauzy first single Come On
Thru received acclaim from the likes of The Fader,
Nylon, and Stereogum, who called the record "a rewarding
listen... facing raw human emotions head-on rather than disappearing into
the clouds." A brand-new grooving remix of the track by DC dream-pop outfit Brett was just released in celebration of
Madeira’s recent New York performance. DC dream pop outfit Brett.
After stellar shows in LA, DC, San Francisco and New York, Madeira is gearing
up to return to NZ to reveal the new tracks to her burgeoning audience here at
