Hot on the heels of Auckland-based singer, Bekah’s, late music video for her single Wanna Play, the soul-pop artist has announced an upcoming release of a five song collaborative EP.
The EP, titled Yet To Be Named is a collection of songs that she wrote with four of her close friends from the Auckland music scene.
Today she has released the first track, Habit, off the EP through soundcloud and her website. Habit will be available for streaming on all major platforms early next week, but is currently exclusively available for purchase at http://www.bekahmusic.com/.
Bekah’s Los Angeles based producer, Scott Elgin, travelled to New Zealand in April this year to record the acoustic tracks. Elgin and Bekah then built up the songs via correspondence over the following months, bringing in local and international musicians to add their flavour to the mix.
A truly collaborative project of mixed genre, Yet To Be Named is still yet to be released. Despite the work that continues on the EP, Bekah has planned an EP release party/ artist showcase so that friends, family and fans can come along and listen to the tracks live, prior to release.
The gig is this coming Sunday 27th November at the Windsor Castle in Parnell. There will be free entry and all four co-writers will be playing a short set for an afternoon of mixed genre.
