ABOUT THE BANDS
DAVE DOBBYN
In 40
years as a recording artist, Dave Dobbyn has written the soundtrack to kiwi
lives, with a string of hits including ‘Beside You’, ‘Be Mine Tonight’
‘Language’, ‘Outlook for Thursday’, ‘Loyal’, ‘Whaling’, ‘Kingdom Come’, ‘It
Dawned On Me’, ‘Guilty’, ‘Devil You Know’, ‘Slice of Heaven’, ‘Magic What She
Do’, ‘Oughtta Be in Love’, ‘Welcome Home’.
He has won more Music Awards and Silver Scrolls than any other NZ artist and shows no sign of resting on his laurels: he still loves nothing more than to connect with Kiwis through live performance and continues to write with passion. The North West Wine, Beer & Food Festival will be Dave’s only Auckland show with a full band for summer, and will see him play the tracks which have made him such an icon.
TRINITYROOTS
From the tail of the fish to the tip, Aotearoa has been swept up in the music
of Trinity Roots - a boil-up of ingredients that seemed to embody the very
essence of our home, land and sea, and serve as an invocation to that same
environment. The recent release of their third album Citizen has seen the band
playing International Festivals such as WOMAD NZ 2015, Celtic Connections UK,
and Splore, as well as intensive tours throughout Australia & NZ to
sell-out audiences.
The North West Wine, Beer & Food Festival will see Trinity Roots bring their unique sound of head-nodding reggae, slow-buring funk and jazz adventurism to their only Auckland show over summer.
NOMAD
Christchurch
band nomad have been winning over unsuspecting audiences show by show with
their heady harmonies and pop hooks. They made their musical mark on the charts
this year with the undeniably catchy single ‘Oh My My’.
Aasha Mallard, Will McGillivray and Cullen Kiesanowski formed the band at school three years ago when they were just 15 and their differing musical tastes collide to shape their alt-pop sound. They have supported Fly My Pretties, Marlon Williams and more, and their summer is filling up with outdoor shows and festivals up and down the country.
