A NEW music video from New Zealand band Moana & the Tribe featuring Jamaican reggae/hip-hop/dancehall king Skarra Mucci premiered this week on Reggaeville. The clip also stars Kaea Pearce from The Royal Family who has danced alongside Rihanna, J.Lo and Justin Bieber. In Fire in Paradise Kaea performs alongside Moana & the Tribe’s warriors on the black sands of Muriwai Beach (NZ), while Skarra Mucci is filmed in Jamaica.
Fire in Paradise was produced by Moritz v. Korff, bass player with French reggae band Dub Inc. Despite the summery feel, Moana originally wrote Whaura for her 4th album as a tribute to the people of Timor-Leste. The remake was inspired by the rise of global conflicts rendering the lyrics as potent and relevant as ever.
In 2016, Moana was inducted by APRA Amcos into the NZ Music Hall of Fame. She is currently recording her 6th studio album Ono with Paddy Free (Pitch Black). Skarra has released 5 solo albums including two top sellers - Return of the Raggamuffin (Album of the year, France) and Greater than Great(winner of Best Dancehall Album). He has also collaborated with the likes of Dub Inc, L'entourloop, Treesha and Beenie Man.
