The Ding Dong Lounge’s “Battle of the Singers” contest will be held on January 29th at 7:00 pm in Auckland. Those interested in competing must have their entry forms submitted no later than Friday January 20th, 2017.
The Battle of the Singers contest is a rock vocal contest held at the Ding Dong Lounge in Auckland.
Fancy yourself a bit of a singer? We're hosting the Battle Of The Singers this Auckland Anniversary weekend on Sunday 29 January and entries are open to anyone over the age of 18!
Contestants should come prepared to sing at least three songs that the bar already has on file. The club will provide the backing track, as well as a screen with all the lyrics. There will be three rounds so potentially singers will have to sing anywhere from one to three songs. Each round there will be eliminations until the final round when the judges pick a winner from the remaining contestants.
The winner of the contest will receive $200 and, more importantly, 3 hours recording time at Depot Sound Recording Studio to record vocals. Other prizes include food & beverage vouchers for the bar.

The original Ding Dong Lounge was located in the upper west side of Manhattan, a rock club founded by Bill Nolan. The club grew a loyal following of writers, actors, musicians, and artists. Since then, two more have opened keeping with the spirit of the original, Auckland being the latest version of the club. Ding Dong Lounge is a spot where rock and roll enthusiasts can come and listen to the type of classic rock and hard rock artistry that drove the movement in the 60’s, 70’s and beyond.
