On February 5th 2017 Melting Faces released their new single Waste The Day, a chilled psych jam with an 80’s throwback vibe. Recorded in a reclusive, dusty old mansion in Featherston with the Maestro Warren Maxwell, Waste The Day shows a chill, vibey side of Melting Faces almost approaching vaporwave in parts, with their psych-rock roots shining through.
Formed in New Zealand’s capital city in early 2011, Melting Faces have been stretching the fabric of music to fit their own veritable melting pot of influence for over five years now. Playing shows up and down the country they have formed a steadily growing fan base.
There will be a special one-off show in central Wellington to celebrate the release of Waste The Day at a secret outdoor location, announced a day before the gig.
On Sunday, the 5th of February, 2pm we will rendezvous at the location and waste the day away in the Sun! This is the first in a series of releases throughout 2017 for Melting Faces. Keep an eye out for upcoming tours, and tunes.
Waste The Day is now available on Bandcamp and Soundcloud for free download,
streaming on Spotify, and download from iTunes.
