Today Thomas
Oliver shares a third single off his upcoming album release, Floating In The Darkness out April 28th.
Listen to Losin' (on YouTube here),
which follows on from his hearty previous single Shine Like The Sun and the
Silver Scroll award-winning hit, If I Move To Mars.
The bones of this
soulful new offering carry the feeling of when someone you love slips away.
Told through a vulnerable juxtaposition of sweet falsetto, warm vocal harmonies
(Bella Florence) and soul-baring lyric, it's a paradoxical picture that
represents "being so acquainted with hurt that you hardly feel it
anymore."
Thomas will be taking to the road this May, on a tour that stretches across both islands of Aotearoa. For full tour dates and ticketing information, click here. Thomas will be joined by a full band (including Sam Notman, Ed Zuccollo, Johnny Lawrence, Bella Florence) before finishing off with a string of solo shows.
Floating In The Darkness is a deep
and raw, reflective body of work, largely self-produced, written and mixed
by Thomas himself, with an additional soul-stirring collaboration with
renowned producer and composer, Rhian
Sheehan (Let It Be This One), input from
Grammy Award-winning mix engineer, Trina
Shoemaker, and mastering by Vlado Meller.
