THE BAND:
Anti Matter is a dance punk duo that put on dynamic live shows. They are an eclectic mix of mix of rap, shouting, melodic singing with distorted guitar and dance beats and riffs. Influences include Nine Inch Nails, Lights and Twenty One Pilots. And they are making waves.
Fresh on the scene with only a handful of gigs, Anti Matter wild carded their way to the Battle of The Bands finals, winning the judges over with their unique dance punk sound. As vocalist Courtney says: "We choose to party with our inner demons."
THE SONG:
“The lyrics are a metaphor. I felt like Courtney is a mental health advocate and wrote the song to share her experience of cognitive burnout. The song describes coping with mental illness while seeing others around her achieve tasks that she could not. Inspired by the video game Dead Space, she says: zombie, like my brain was dead space, a malfunctioning brain.” The lyrics coupled with atmospheric synths gives the song prosody that makes Anti Matter's unique sound.
The track will have a release party event
at Dog's Bollix, and be available on iTunes, Spotify, YouTube and other popular digital stores.
