The track which exemplifies Janine’s powerful vocals has Billboard proclaiming, “Janine keeps it 100 on her latest offering.” Janine tells Billboard, "’Don't Love Me’ embraces the moment when it's really over. It's not about having a pity party for the things I've been through but more of a ‘You can't mess with me anymore.’"
Don’t Love Me was written by Janine with multi-Grammy Award winning producer and songwriter Krucial Keys (Alicia Keys, Keyshia Cole) and Jenna Andrews (The Band Perry). Janine co-produced the single with 4E (G-Eazy), who she has also produced her upcoming album with.
Nominated for the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards ‘Critic’s Choice Prize’ in 2014, Janine went on to win ‘Best Urban/Hip Hop Album’ in 2015 for her XXEP. The EP gained high praise from such outlets as MTV, Complex, The Source and VIBE and featured the breakout hit Hold Me which featured an appearance from US rapper Pusha T.
