UB40 was
at the forefront of the global reggae revival throughout the 80's and 90's,
becoming a household name with hits such as
Red Red Wine,
Can’t Help Falling In Love,
Kingston Town and
Here I Am.
Filling the charts with their own songs and creating seminal versions of some
of the world’s greatest tunes, UB40crossed radio formats and their songs are still blasted on the airwaves to this
day. Following the replacement of long-time lead singer Ali Campbell with his
brother Duncan Campbell in 2008, the band continues to tour the world with its
founding members, Robin Campbell, Earl Falconer, Brian Travers, Jimmy Brown and
Norman Hassan.
UB40will be joined on their New Zealand tour by Kiwi reggae act House of Shem.
Formed in 2005, the trio gained notoriety in 2008 with their debut album,
Keep It Rising. The
band went on to release a string of successful songs and records, earning two
Gold albums certifications, as well as several Maori Music Awards and
nominations in the VNZMAs.
They’ve also taken Kiwi reggae to the world, touring the United States and
Europe and playing international festivals such as Reggae on the River and
Island Reggae Fest.
In 2017 House of Shemreleased new music, including the single
Anything You Ask For, written, recorded and self-produced in
Hawaii.
Don’t miss your chance to see two of the world’s finest reggae bands sharing
the same stages in New Zealand this November.
