Meatstock Auckland: Music to Make your Mouth Water

14 December 2017 - 0 Comments

Meatstock the ultimate music and barbecue festival is returning to Auckland on the 24th - 25th February and the music lineup set for 2018 has just made it even more meatier.

Meatstock is extremely proud to be hosting iconic New Zealand band House of Shem headlining a line up of great NZ artists including Butlers, Bullhorn, Soul Drop, Dusty Boots, Vanderaa and Marlins Dreaming all on the list, punters can kick back, grab some slow cooked ribs and enjoy the mouthwatering music.

Pitch perfect Aotearoa band, House of Shem will be hitting the stage Saturday night to close the foodie filled day. This family comprised harmony trio embodies the roots of traditional, pacific and new reggae. Another class local act are The Butlers, a 4 piece band that will bring milky goodness to the ears of punters with their take on alternative jazz, rock/reggae.

Meatstock veterans, Bullhorn will be making a reappearance, the 9 piece behemoth, group of party animals combine crazy arrangements, groovy tunes and upbeat rhythms to get the crowds on their feet.

Christchurch’s four piece band Souldrop, creates music inspired by the greats like Sticky Fingers, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Paramore. A group of mates who jam, make great beats by blending pop with soul, funk, reggae, blues and indie rock are sure to show punters a great time.

Music and meat could not be a better combo, and festival directors Jay Beaumont and Simon Luke are stoked to return to NZ:

“We are wrapped with what we have put together for Auckland this year and wanted to make sure great food is supported with great live music! We can’t wait for the carnivore crowds to get amongst it”.

If bands, beers, barbecue and good banter isn’t enough, there is plenty more to see at Meatstock. Two of the sauciest men in barbecue Tuffy Stone and HillBilly Wes will be front and centre at Meatstock Auckland running barbecue classes and demonstrations for both competitors and public.

Also at the food filled festival, 50 BBQ teams will be basting and barbecuing in the hopes of being crowned the best in the business with a sweet $8,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs.

Your good old local butcher could also be competing at this year’s foodie festivities. Over 20 butchers will be battling it out to be dubbed the best in carving, so if your local butcher wins the crown, looks like you’ll have the best looking lamb shanks in the nation!

The steaks have never been higher with the return of the carnival for carnivores to Auckland and the 2018 music line up is just another reason to sink your teeth into this grilled and barbecue filled festival.
