The Music Managers Awards is
considered one of the key nights in the New Zealand music industry calendar
when managers, industry professionals and artists come together to celebrate
the work of the music manager. Now in its 14th year, the awards are
a reminder of all the hard work that takes place out of view of the public to
launch and maintain an artists career.
In 2018 the following categories are now open for nomination:
In 2017 Alastair
Burns was awarded the prestigious Recorded Music NZ ‘Manager of the
Year' award for his work with Marlon Williams and Julia Jacklin. The New
Zealand Music Commission ‘International Achievement’ award was given to Julie
Foa’i for her work with Te Vaka who was hired by Walt Disney for the Moana
movie soundtrack. In 2017 a new award called ‘Emerging Manager’ was introduced
for those who had just started managing in the last two years. This award was won
by Nicole Thomas and Paula Yeoman for their work with the artist Theia.
The New Zealand MMF is the collective voice for music managers and self-managed artists.
