Jocee Tuck is thrilled to announce the release of her music video Made To Be, from debut album Mt Dora.
The video, funded by New Zealand on Air and directed by Rodney Fisher, brings together elements of stop motion and hand-made components, finished with a kitschy- cute aesthetic to complement Jocee’s whimsical sound.
Known for her eclectic use of instruments, Made To Be paints a magical visual scape to accompany her bright and quirky sound that combines vibraphone, xylophone, trumpet, electric guitar, tambourine and drums with Jocee’s summery voice, described by NZ Musician Magazine as “approachable and kind, reminiscent of Ingrid Michaelson or Regina Spektor”.
The video marks Jocee’s long-awaited return to music after moving to the country to settle down and welcome her second baby, so it is fitting that the video celebrates a single inspired by “the great love” and a feeling of a higher purpose.
Her imaginative flair for songwriting combined with her folk-pop sensibility has seen Jocee awarded Auckland University’s Songwriter Of The Year, gain success in pop duo Bear Cat and perform at the APRA Silver Scroll Awards.
