Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band
announce The Slacks will support them at
The Tuning Fork, Auckland
Friday February 23rd
Big
Damn Band stake a claim on being the
greatest country-blues band in the world. Led by Reverend Peyton, who most
consider to be the premier finger picker playing today. He has earned a
reputation as both a singularly compelling performer and a persuasive
evangelist for the rootsy country blues styles that captured his imagination
early in life and inspired him and his band to make pilgrimages to Clarksdale,
Mississippi to study under such blues masters as T-Model Ford, Robert Belfourand David “Honeyboy”
Edwards.
Rev Peyton's one club show in New Zealand for 2018 will be kicked off by
the jocular swagger of Taranaki's favourite band, The Slacks. This
foursome struck hokey-pokey gold in 2016 with their single
“Big Aroha”which, thanks in part to a video shot in a local 4-Square store, proved to be a
hit with schools, Kapa Haka groups and ex-pat Kiwis all over the world. Right
at this moment, the lads are putting the finishing touches on their next single
“Yeah Nah” due
for release in early March 2018 and looking forward to supporting their
Beanblossom Indiana kindred spirits, Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band.
