Music News - Upcoming Single Release for Astro Children

Upcoming Single Release for Astro Children

27 February 2018 - 0 Comments

On March 5th, Dunedin two-piece Astro Children will release the second single from their upcoming album, Turnpike. Beneath the Visible Surface was recorded in Auckland with Jonathan Pearce (The Beths, Artisan Guns), and will be released as a seven inch, also featuring an earlier track, Nora Flood. The record will be supported by a short tour, with dates in Auckland, Wellington and Dunedin.

Written by guitarist and vocalist Millie Lovelock part way through a Master’s project on One Direction, and recorded on the tenth anniversary of My Chemical Romance’s The Black Parade, Beneath the Visible Surface marks the group’s shift from bratty, gothic post-punk to lush pop melodies on a slant.

Astro Children will be performing both sides of the seven inch at Whammy Bar in Auckland on March 10th, at Caroline in Wellington on March 17th, and at The Cook in Dunedin on April 6th.
