Wash - Out With A Bang

19 April 2005 - 0 Comments

After ten years of rockin' audiences all over New Zealand (and very nearly the USA) WASH have decided to call it a day and go out with a bang.

To conclude their ninefivezerofive nationwide tour WASH will perform for Top of the Pops at the Transmission Room in Auckland followed by a final full show at the same venue on Thursday 28 April.

Lead singer Ivan Beets says, "We want the last days of this band to be enjoyed by all, and what better way to celebrate WASH than to play one last time for everybody on national TV."

WASH will play their latest single Trapped for Top of the Pops which will be broadcast on TV2 at 5:00pm Saturday 30 April.

Regarding their break-up WASH recently stated in an email to fans, "It is no secret that we have had a difficult time dealing with international recording contracts and huge delays in the releasing of our debut album." However they also add that, "The members of WASH are still on great terms and are united in this decision [to disband]."

Career highlights for WASH include:

~ Significant radio play of the singles Crawling, One Step Closer, Shape, Who Am I, Sunbleed, Feel the Sun, Flow, Survive, Walk Away, and Trapped.

~ EP Epilogue reaching No. 39 on the New Zealand Music Charts.

~ Performances at the 2000, 2001 and 2003 Big Day Out.

~ Winning the 2003 Big Day Out Poll.
