The Proms delivering a riotous showcase of Brit musical gems at
Bruce Mason Centre on Saturday 23 June and at the Auckland Town Hall on Sunday
24 June.

Last Night at the Promsis an exuberant salute
to Old Blighty that is on the verge of becoming a tradition as steadfast as
Sunday roast dinner!
Join the roaring crowd for a night of classic Brit revelry that will be as
pompous as it is rowdy. If there’s anything that will leave you craving your
aunt’s signature Yorkshire pud and a jolly good cuppa, it’ll be this boisterous
display that is bound to invigorate that patriotic pride nestled in your heart.
Bound to please musical tastes of all persuasion, this eclectic showcase will
continue to delight audiences with a splendid display of favourite Brit musical
pieces, ranging from the iconic
Rule
Britannia to classic tunes by Brit-pop darlings, The Beatles.
Last Night of the Promswill be conducted by the brilliant Peter Thomas and will feature more than 100
performers including bass - baritone Samson Setu, mezzo soprano Caroline
Everitt and violinist Maia-Dean Martin. At just 17 years old Martin was
the recipient of a Dame Malvina Major Foundation Arts Excellence award at the
tender age of 15.
Peter Thomas will bring his broad expertise as musical director of the Auckland
Symphony Orchestra to the show, along with 16 years of valuable experience as
Head of Music at Epsom Girls Grammar School and Director at Remuera Music
School.
