Another talented New Zealander will have the chance to win the break of a lifetime when the hugely popular NZ IDOL returns to TV2.
NZ IDOL, in conjunction with major sponsor ALLEN'S lollies, is now looking for the person with the talent and star quality to become New Zealand's next Idol.
Contestants can now register for the audition process by completing an application form at http://www.nzidol.tvnz.co.nz/
The application form will also be available from BP service stations nationwide from Wednesday 20 April, 2005.
Heats will be held in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch in June.
NZ Idol Host Announced
TV2 presenter Dominic Bowden will host the second series of NZ IDOL.
Bowden is looking forward to being back on board the popular show.
"I think last year's show proved that the Idol format is hugely successful and this year's show is going to be bigger and better. There is so much talent out there," he says.
Bowden's role will include interviews with the NZ IDOL contestants before and after they face the judging panel, presenting behind-the-scenes glimpses of the competition as the heats progress, and being a confidante to the contenders.
"Dominic did a fantastic job as the host of NZ IDOL last year," says NZ IDOL Executive Producer Maureen Sinton. "He was a big hit with both the viewers and the contestants so we are very pleased that he will be back again as NZ Idol host this year."
Watch out for NZ IDOL, coming soon to TV2.
All that money spent and just one winner (and a couple of spin-offs), and a new breed of teeny-bopper idolisers.
It's rubbish.
Like for example, Bens career as a performer hasn\'t exactly blossomed. The only success he has got was on the back of the idol show, as all idols are.
Who's gonna be watching?
I cant believe they're playing ANOTHER american idol on TV!!! :-/
