Music News - Dick Tracy premiere 'Street Light' video ahead of album
Palmerston North-based party rock band
Dick Tracy have
released the video for
Street Light, the first single off their upcoming debut self-titled album.
The video, directed by Taine Noble, continues the bands fun approach to music videos by adding some light humor laid over an entertaining storyline:
“We met with Taine and showed him what videos we like and what we’ve done prior and he understood that while we take our music seriously, we don’t take ourselves so seriously. He came up with a fun shoot that we managed to get members of our families involved in too, so the whole experience was a good time” – Keir, vocalist, Dick Tracy.
The video follows Dick Tracy from their band practice to a Poker game with the stakes of winning back their kidnapped singer from a mysterious kidnapper and his brutes.
The album itself will be available on digital platforms from
12th May 2018 and the band will celebrate the release by playing the album in it’s entirety on the same date at
Lucky Bar + Kitchen in Whanganui.
The self-titled album is a follow up to their 2016 EP release and was recorded at Creative Sounds in Palmerston North, mixed by producer Samuel K Sproull at Homesurgery Recording Studios in Melbourne and mastered at Kog Studios in Auckland.
