The Miltones will open for
Tami Neilsonon her upcoming
Sassafrass! New Zealand tour.
Presented by Sunday Star Times and Under The Radar, the seven-date tour begins
on July 26 in Nelson and makes its
way across both islands before ending in Auckland on August 4.

The tour follows the recent release of Tami
Neilson’s powerful new album
Sassafrass!Now just announced,
blues-Americana-folk rockers The Miltones
will join the
Sassafrass! tour for four of the shows (Christchurch, Wellington, Hamilton and Auckland).
The band’s frontwoman, Milly
Tabak, will perform solo at the remaining shows (Nelson,
Dunedin, Napier).
The Miltones
are an Auckland-based act who have been sending ripples through the Kiwi music
scene since their inception in 2014. Their self-titled debut album -
recorded in Lyttelton with renowned producer Ben Edwards, who also co-produced
Sassafrass! - was
released in 2017.
The Listener awarded it 4.5/5 and the New
Zealand Herald called it
“The
freshest sound in New Zealand popular music right now”. The Miltones were also recognised at the 2018
Taite Music Awards, where they received the Auckland Live Best
Independent Debut Album award.
The Miltones are
also a band that clearly thrives on playing live.
