Kiwi electro-pop artist Saskitoday releases her new single
Work
It Out.
Hailing from Nelson, New Zealand, but currently living in San Francisco, Saski has spent the
better part of the last two years turning heads on the international music
scene, with smouldering soulful tunes such as 2016’s
Faking Bright,
which has had more than 3.9 million streams on Spotify and 2017’s pop gem
Independent.
Now, Saskireturns with
Work It Out.
It’s a warm and euphoric track that simply soars with Saski’s gorgeously lush
vocals, paired with an infectious beat.
Co-written and produced by Djeisan
Suskov at Saiko Studios in Auckland,
Work It Out was
conceived in a half-day writing session and also delivers an important message.
“The song is about giving yourself the time to figure out who you are and not
what everyone else has labeled you as, or perceived you to be,” explains Saski, whose real name
is Mikhail Birch.
“It’s about working on who you are and what you’re about, and moving forward
with that, not doubting it.”
Saskibrings an impressive DIY work ethic to the table, working a full-time job in
San Francisco as a Digital Media and Content Producer, with no backing from
record labels or managers, taking on all sides of the music industry herself.
“I’m meeting amazing people in San Francisco and learning how to be creative in
all areas of my life, which I can then apply to my music. I’m allowing the
experience to influence how I approach music and my perspective within it and
learning to not sweat the small stuff but just live life well and enjoy the
process.”
Saski’s
hard work has paid off, with her music drawing the attention of Beats 1’s Matt
Wilkinson, Pigeons & Planes and Coup De Main, who named Saski as one of 2018’s
‘must-know’ artists. Read the Coup De Main feature

songwriting include singer-songwriters such as Daughter, Corinne Bailey Rae, Lucy Rose, Ben Howard, and John Mayer.
