Singer Elaine Paige has
announced an 8-date series of concerts from October 10 to October 25 2018, which will
see her perform songs from her illustrious career along side an array of her
favourite tracks by contemporary songwriters.
This follows on from the huge successes of Elaine’s last series of concerts in the UK
in 2016 and 2017, which had audiences and critics alike rising to their feet in
praise.
Elaine said:
"I'm so excited about
taking this concert to more venues across the globe, we’ve had such a great
time performing it over the past couple of years. It allows me to do something
completely different, a brand new show celebrating songwriters I love such as
Harry Nilsson, Jim Webb, Burt Bacharach, Lennon & McCartney, Tim Rice &
Andrew Lloyd Webber ... the list goes on… as well as many of my hits such as I
Know Him So Well, Don’t Cry for Me Argentina and of course my signature
Memory. This music has been the soundtrack to all our lives, not just
mine. And it’s the ideal opportunity to perform in an intimate way.”
Elaine has performed live in concert all over the
world and as a recording artist has worked with legendary producers such as
Tony Visconti,
Dennis Lambert, Peter Matz, and Phil
Ramone amongst others and has released 22 solo albums (4
multi-Platinum and 9 Gold,) been featured on 7 cast recordings and has had
major worldwide hits with songs such as ‘Memory’(Cats) and ‘I Know Him So
Well’ (Chess.)
As a musical theatre performer, Elainehas made a major contribution to the modern musical. She has starred in
more smash hit West End and Broadway musicals than anyone else of her
generation and continues to present the hugely successful weekly BBC Radio 2
show
