For the first time since their epic sold out November 2015 tour, Florence Welch and her band return to unleash their mesmerising live show on New Zealand audiences. “Florence and the Machine's performance was a relentless buzz of energy, music and fun, which had the sold-out crowd screaming, singing and going nuts all night”, the NZ Herald announced of their most recent New Zealand show.
Released globally earlier this week, Florence + The Machine’s latest offering, Big God, is a raw and enchanting affair, and is the third single to be taken from their highly-anticipated fourth album, High As Hope, out next Friday June 29th. As Paste Magazine notes, “if Welch’s ethereal vocals made her sound like a goddess on previous tracks, she’s a distinctly grounded one on ‘Big God’ – ‘Big God’ is sparser, but gorgeously so.” Earlier this year, Florence + The Machine performed their brooding second single Hunger on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
High As Hope is as intimate as it is epic, venturing into new sonic territory whilst reaching back to Florence’s roots. The new album will feature collaborations from the likes of Kamasi Washington, Sampha, Tobias Jesso Jr, Kelsey Lu and Jamie xx, and as Florence describes it, “is a pure expression of who I am now, as an artist, and an honest one.”
The UK artist has dazzled fans and critics alike across three celebrated studio albums; Lungs (2009), Ceremonials (2011) and How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful (2015), which produced a slew of worldwide hits including, You’ve Got The Love, Dog Days Are Over, Shake It Out and Spectrum (Say My Name) among many others.
Don’t miss out when Florence + The Machine return in January to play fan favourites and debut songs from High As Hope in New Zealand for the very first time.
