Roady For Roadies Picks Up Speed

10 September 2018 - 0 Comments

- Love Police ATM designs T-shirts and donates stock
- Universal Music, Warner Music and The Rock Shop get involved

- JB Hi-Fi donates prizes

- The finish line confirmed as The Tuning Fork

The Roady For Roadies walk is picking up speed as tickets sell and donations roll in. The total money now donated has hit $10,000.

The walk commences at 1pm at Horne Reserve - corner of Normans Hill Rd & Beachcroft Ave Onehunga, and ends at The Tuning Fork. It will take around four hours.

We also hear from our friends in Christchurch and Melbourne that they too will set up their own Roady for Roadies walks.

LPATM have designed an amazing T-Shirt unprompted and they will be giving every participant walker a T-Shirt at the finish line.

Johne Leach and his team from JLP have been surveying the walk for good rest points and organising volunteers for assistance and hydration along the way.

Spark Arena management have offered The Tuning Fork, which is the boutique live music venue at Spark Arena, free of charge as our finishing line. They will also be providing participants some tucker and refreshments on the house once we complete the route.

JB Hi-Fi have given us $500 in vouchers as prizes so we are going to have the following prizes:

  • Best dressed team: $300 worth of JB-Hi Fi Vouchers
  • Best dressed individual $100 worth of JB Hi-Fi Vouchers
  • Most puffs walking up Mt Eden $100 worth of JB Hi-Fi Vouchers.

The idea of Roady For Roadies was proposed by Brent Eccles & Morgan Donoghue.

“We have been overwhelmed by the interest from all around the world and the generosity of people for the cause” says Brent Eccles

All proceeds raised from Roady For Roadies will support the work of The NZ Music Foundation.
Proceeds will go toward providing targeted emergency assistance to kiwi music production and backroom personnel experiencing illness and hardship, and to tailored professional online, telephone and in person counselling for those experiencing distress through the NZ Music Foundation Wellbeing Service.
Kiwi music people doing it tough can apply for emergency assistance by contacting the Foundation, or if they are experiencing distress, they can call our toll-free Wellbeing Service helpline on 0508MUSICHELP from within NZ, or 1 800 353 148 from Australia.

If you’d like to help we encourage you to buy your tickets. Or if you cannot make the walk but still want to help out, you can donate here.

Don't be afraid to ask for help.

Tickets only from TICKETMASTER | 0800 111 999
