The Play It Strange Charitable Trust has announced the appointment of Michael Glading (pictured with trustee Sean Fitzpatrick and CEO Mike Chunn) as their new chairman.

Glading comes from a wealth of experience in the music industry. He was recently President of the Recording Industry Association of New Zealand and Managing Director of Sony Music Entertainment (NZ).

“Play It Strange is intent on making a real difference to the creative excellence of young New Zealanders. Their current secondary school programmes – the songwriting competition and the SongNet website – are inspirational. And their plans for the future look set to accelerate the growth of contemporary music in secondary schools.”- says Glading

Play It Strange headed by CEO Mike Chunn, commenced operations in Feb 2004. The afore-mentioned music programmes are available to all secondary school students. They are not part of the music curriculum.
