Rubine [Ru:bin] is a New Zealand rock band based in Hamilton and Tauranga. Their music is best described as classic rock and pop-rock with an edge, flavoured with memorable melodies and spiced with a bit of difference. All band members were born overseas (Slovakia, Germany, England, Sri Lanka). They made New Zealand their home and united their different influences to form the truly multicultiral rock band Rubine in 2016.
Rubine consists of Tana Tapri (lead vocals) Afzer Zameer (drums) Keith McGlade (bass, backing vocals), Stefan Doll (guitar, backing vocals) and Denis Bem (guitar). Each member is looking back on years of successfully making music in New Zealand and Europe.
“We’ve written so many great songs that it was a challenge to decide which one we’d like to take to the stage. We ended up adding at least one new song to every gig.“ says Stefan Doll. “Over the last year we consolidated our performance and concentrated on recording Rubine’s debut album called Secret Danger.”
Tana Tapri is an award winning, well established vocalist in her own right who has already released six solo albums. Tana captures the audience with her raspy rock voice and unique vocal interpretations.
Rubine achieved a fantastic audience response and has been described as “… a tight rock band with great original songs. Any music lover should check them out.”
Rubine is releasing their first single Kind Words on first of November with their live performance at Vinyl Destinaltion in Tauranga. Special guests for this show are the much loved Tauranga band Stones In The Ocean (aka SITO). Doors open at 7.30pm and tickets are available on Eventfinda.
The song Kind Words is about kind words as the source for happiness:
Kind Words are precious just as gold
Make people rich as they are told
Humanity is to unfold
To light up skies and light up souls
You can find their music video with lyrics on YouTube. Over the next months Rubine releases more singles together with their debut album, supported by a North Island tour. You can follow Rubine and get in contact on Facebook.
