Surprises. Remember those?
The new LP from Kerretta entitled Exiscens is out December 14.
Four years after their third album Pirohia, Kerretta's new LP captures tracks from around that time, as well as way back to their first recordings. Exiscens is a collection of digital-only released tracks, unreleased outtakes, new songs and rarities starting from the days prior to their first 7" release (2007) until now.
And here we are!
Unleashing a track taken from the album entitled Chroma Queens.
A ferocious little foot stomper that combines the catchy instrumental hooks Kerretta are renown for with a tempo they're sometimes not.
Described as the "the thinking metaller’s rock band", Kerretta was spawned from the warehouses of Kingsland, New Zealand. Their debut album Vilayer was one of the highlights of 2009, gaining praise and glory from fans and critics alike across the globe. In New Zealand it was nominated for the inaugural Taite Music Prize, an honour similar to being nominated for a Mercury prize in the UK.
Since the release of Vilayer, and it's following albums, Saansilo and Pirohia, Kerretta have relentlessly toured Europe, toured North America, and have shared stages with the likes of The Breeders, YOB, Explosions In The Sky, Pallbearer, Amen Ra, Mono, ‘Trail of Dead, and God Is An Astronaut.
They have performed at festivals such as SXSW (Texas, USA), Dunk! Festival (BEL), Dude Festival (GER), Incubate (NEL) and the amazing Fusion Festival (GER).
It is on LP and Digital formats only 14 December 2018.
