With a pumping beat and an insanely catchy chorus, Temporary Crush is a bubbly, playful pop tune with a crisp dance-electronic streak.
All about makeshift relationships that are short-lived, Temporary Crush perfectly captures the vibe of youthfulness and making the most of every situation.
Co-written with and produced by one of New Zealand’s leading producers Josh Fountain (Maala, Bene, Theia, Openside), ASHY sealed the song with one vocal take in Auckland’s famed - and Lorde’s old stomping ground - Golden Age Studios.
“I walked in and Josh had come up with some chords the night before and asked if I was keen to write over it. I sat down in the studio and mulled over the lyrics and melody and it actually came together really quickly,” says ASHY.
The Christchurch-based 20-year-old artist has already shown her dedication to her craft, with a string of successful singles under her belt, including her last release Over You, which reached #5 on the Hot New Zealand Singles chart, and Jersey which has clocked up impressive streaming numbers both domestically and internationally.
