Formed in 2010 in Hawke’s Bay, Diamond Doll quickly captured fans with their powerful melding of grunge, metal and punk. As Diamond Doll they have supported I Am Giant, Devilskin and Head Like a Hole.
But the Doll is dead. Resurrected as The Diamond Dead, and with the release of their new EP Becoming, the next chapter has begun.
The first single from Becoming is No Revolution, which debuted on Brisbane radio station 4ZZZ’s show ‘Break Your Fingers Laughing’ and ‘The NZ Show'. Since then it has been playlisted on The Axe Attack, features on NZ Musician’s Spotify playlist ‘Hatchlings – New Kiwi Singles’, and has just been selected for NZ On Air’s March New Tracks playlist.
Each of the three tracks will have an accompanying video, rolled out as each single is released.
Watch the video for No Revolution, directed by Liv Strawbridge and Eden Clarkson.
“I am a huge fan of these guys and have been playing them on the Axe Attack as Diamond Doll for years. Loving the new track [No Revolution], it’s already on my playlist and I look forward to the next release. This band stands out with snarling attitude, confidence, integrity and sheer force of will.” Paul Martin - The Axe Attack/Devilskin
“The energy from No Revolution punches you in the guts from the very start” 5/5 – Tony McDonald, muzic.net.nz
The Diamond Dead will tour the Becoming EP across New Zealand in May.
The Diamond Dead Becoming EP is available on:
