Music News - Geoffrey Chunn with Kingsley Melhuish perform in Auckland

The student was ready. The master appeared. That's been the case for both Geoffrey Chunn and Kingsley Melhuish who perform at Backbeat on K'Rd in early April.
Chunn an alumni of Split Enz and ex front man of Citizen Band spent last year studying toward a degree and struck up a rapport with one of his teachers - Melhuish. It wasn't long before the two started jamming regularly.
'I felt like I was the student,' says Melhuish, a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. 'Geoffrey's an incredible talent, its a privilege to perform with him.'
Chunn will feature some of his latest recordings and Melhuish will showcase works from his upcoming solo album. They are joined by heavyweight Chris Orange on double bass.
The duo perform a programme of originals at Backbeat on Thurs April 4. Doors open at 7pm.
