Coke New Releases - Fresh Music from the fridge

Saturday October 22nd 11am - 12pm, TV2

You know, it’s not always easy hunting out the newest, freshest videos every Saturday morning for Coke New Releases, scything through the undergrowth with a well-honed pop music eye. We work hard. Some of us even sweat. So we decided to take a break, inviting this week’s hardest working musician (the lovely NZ Idol winner Rosita Vai) to join us, to have a chat and put her feet up.

It was back to the grindstone for the rest of the week though. Phil even had to sit down at one point - but that was only to admire the brand new clips from The Pussycat Dolls, Simple Plan, Athlete and The Weekend.

Kiwi hip hop duo Frontline leapt out at us with a fearsome new video, all the better to accompany their flowing beats, while Oz grungers Wolfmother premier ‘Mind’s eye’.

We’ve also got two year long subscriptions to Rip It Up up for grabs, two tickets to those fun loving punks The Presidents of the USA and of course the sultry looking Sony MHC-RG270 is still standing all alone in the corner, fluttering her mp3 playability. But surely not for long, she’s got a double cassette deck, you know…

Top of the Pops

Saturday October 22nd 5pm - 6pm, TV2

This week on Top of the Pops we have a great live line up featuring a New Zealand music legend and a 5-piece grrrrrrl punk band!

Tui award winner, the one and only Dave Dobbyn will be down in our studio this week with a beautiful acoustic set. He’ll be followed by rising punk stars Foamy Ed, who will be performing their brand new single ‘Failing to See’ produced by none other than Justyn Pilbrow from Elemeno P!

Also on the show this week, our usual selection of the finest international performances including Kanye West with ‘Gold Digger,’ Foo Fighters with ‘D.O.A’ and New Zealand’s own King Kapisi with ‘Raise Up.’

Plus tune in to catch an interview with our newest New Zealand Idol Rosita Vai.
Rosita will be down in the Top of the Pops studio again NEXT WEEK – for an exclusive live performance of her debut single ‘All I Ask.’

Coke Countdown

Sunday October 23rd 10am - 12pm, TV2

Two new number ones in two weeks! It’s hotting up at the top of the charts as the scramble continues between two scantily clad divas, a dead hip hop star and everyone’s favourite animated amphibian.

Australia’s pop twins The Veronicas strut symmetrically into the top ten with their hit ‘4ever’, while 50 cent makes a long awaited reappearance alongside Mobb Deep with ‘Outta Control’ and Robbie Williams continues his trip up the charts. If you’re lucky you might even get to find out what he’s on about by winning one of the five copies of his new album we’re giving away.

The Bratz Rock Angelz also make an arrival and to celebrate we’ve got their CD and prize packs up for grabs, while we’ve also got fresh Kiwi clips from Frontline and Luke Thompson, along with a classic from yesteryear.

Don’t miss it!
