You're The Future Of Music workshop series returns for 2019

15 August 2019 - 0 Comments

You’re The Future Of Music, a learning intensive series designed for upcoming artists and managers, returns to Auckland this October following a successful 2018 maiden event. The two-day course consists of a keynote lecture, showcase, workshops and roundtable discussions to provide attendees with the tools to navigate the global music marketplace. Participants will develop business plans with the support of mentors on site.

9-10 October - International Fitness
10 October - Showcase and Keynote
11-12 October - Maori Creativity

Coming together in a melting pot of industry knowledge and experience, this year’s workshop will feature:

Aminé Ramer, CEO/Founder of States of Sound (USA)

Charles Kirby-Welch, CEO/Founder of Kartel Music Group (UK)

Tom Larkin, Music Educator, Artist and Studio Manager, member of Shihad (NZ/AU)

Amanda Cheng, Wax Chattels (NZ)

Eddie Johnstone, Lontalius (NZ)

Ninakaye Taane, Artist Manager (NZ)

Local industry leaders will be announced at a later date.

“In the nine months since our last seminar/workshop series, there have been even more changes within the global musical landscape. As a result, there is a greater need for a considered understanding of where an artist or band can fit within it,” says event organizer Manu Taylor.

“You’re The Future Of Music allows the attendees to strengthen their ideas through sharing and debate, and learn from each other's experiences, in the process leaving the sessions with a measured perspective of pragmatic optimism, and the tools required to begin the journey towards the next stages of their careers in the music industry.”

You’re The Future Of Music has two intakes, each with 10 places available.
